Google’s cloud-computing business is adding 11 networks including Avalanche, Arbitrum, Cronos, Ethereum’s Goerli test network; Fantom Opera, NEAR, Optimism, Polygon, Polkadot and Tron to its "BigQuery" program for public datasets. BigQuery is a “serverless and cost-effective enterprise data warehouse,” which is useful for crypto devs looking retrieve data from an off-chain provider like Google Cloud rather than a blockchain directly. James Tromans, Google Cloud's global head of Web3, told CoinDesk TV in an interview: “we’ve continued to hire, we’ve continued to grow" during the bull market. Google Cloud added Bitcoin support for BigQuery in 2018, and is considering adding support for the Bitcoin-based Ordinals project.
